Jason hurriedly went downstairs. He wanted to quickly eat his breakfast so he could go to school and see Abdul.
His ten-year old sister, Cecilia was sitting at the kitchen table eating a bowl of Corn Flakes. She was also getting ready to go to school.
"Good morning Jason." She said in between bites.
Jason did not respond. He quickly sat down and dug his fork in his plate. Lisa had prepared grits and turkey sausages for him.
"You okay Jason?" Cecilia asked.
There was a long pause.
"This ngga DuL's a superhero!" Jason said.
"Huh?" Cecilia asked.
"Abdul! This ngga can't be touched!" Jason said.
Cecilia didn't know what he was talking about. Before she had a chance to ask, Jason finished his plate and rushed out the door. ------------------------------------------ "7:05am" Abdul was laying on the bed with his legs crossed and his hands on his chest. Shay was laying down next to him.
She slowly fluttered her eyes open.
"What time is it?" She asked.
Abdul did not respond. His eyes were fixed on the ceiling. Contemplation was written all over his face.
Shay pulled out her phone to look at the time.
"7:07am" It read.
Shay half gasped. "We're almost late for school!"
Silence enveloped the room. A few seconds flew by.
"Hey, you okay?" She asked.
Abdul kept staring up. "I will not be going today."
"Por Que?" Shay asked.
Abdul did not respond. After a few seconds Shay began to get up from the bed.
"Well. I have to get ready to go. I gotta talk to Christy." Shay said.
Abdul turned his head towards her.
"No! You're not going to school either. You're not going to talk to Christy, or Jason ever again." Abdul said.
"Huh? Why?" Shay asked.
Abdul had a stern expression on his face and he tightened his jaws.
Shay stared in his eyes for a few seconds. She then sat down subtly on the bed.
