The yellow sun rises from the distance

I've learned to pay attention to my intuitions

The sun is fire, fire is destructive, yes?

But the sun also provides warmth and gives life

Each night I sit and wait for you to wake up

As you rise up things become clearer

As you come nearer I start to sweat

My life is ruined, my heart's a mess

My mom's not here, my father left

But you remain there, this yellow sun is a mellow one

And it doesn't play fair

In the afterlife you're a form of punishment

But in this world you give me nourishment

Spring and summer are long seasons

I want you for the wrong reasons

I don't want for you to stop breathing

Your birthday is Christmas, you shine like crystals

You're not my God, not even close

At night is when I need you most

But you're not there, so I hide my fears and scream the most

It seems to be snowing, but you're still showing

Even though you're not here, your rays are

My nights are longer than my days are

I see you in the sky as a faint star

My soul is translucent, your flame I can't lose it

For it's embedded in me, I'll sing for you a melody

Sometimes your presence is sufficient for a remedy

Your heat brings out the best in me

At times you're too shy to manifest, so you hide behind a gray cloud

But I still feel your warmth, it shrouds me

You look down on those who mock and doubt me

The number is great, summer is only a few months away

I stare at you and turn away, your absence from the sky makes the clouds turn gray
