First Sermon(Anas)
  • Correct your intentions that you're sitting here for the sake of Allah alone
  • Fear none except Allah alone
  • Not to look good, not because someone told you to
  • Without the reward all of your work is meaningless
  • It's not an obligation for Allah to give you anything
  • Sit here and have the sincere intention
  • Today we will talk about the meaning of lay sa kamithli shay
  • Allah cleared Himself from resembling His creation in any way
  • It's a must for Allah to be different from the creation
  • He does not resemble His creation
  • He's not a particle or something that's made up of particles
  • He's not an attribute
  • This world is made up of particles and attributes
  • Those that encompass space, the particles
  • The particles are bodies
  • The bodies are of two types
  • Tangible bodies and intangible bodies
  • The intangible bodies are like air
  • All of the bodies are created by Allah
  • The attributes they need something else to exist
  • The attributes do not exist by themselves
  • Stillness and movement are attributes
  • Stillness is an attribute of something else
  • They need to be attributed with something else so that they can exist
  • We don't see green by itself
  • We see something that is green
  • This is the difference between the particles and the attributes
  • How can the Creator resemble the creation?
  • It's impossible. Allah, He created everything
  • So he cannot be like us
  • He knows Himself better than we know ourselves
  • Who is more knowledgable about Allah, you or Allah?
  • Who are you to say that He resembles us?
  • Those that say that Allah is in a place we tell them that a place is a creation
  • He does not resemble anything in any way whatsoever
  • How can the Creator resemble the creation?
  • It's a mental impossibility
  • It goes against the consensus of all the scholars
  • It is a personal obligation for every human to know that Allah does not have an image or a depiction?
  • Because an image leads to "how"
  • Who is the one that gave him that image?
  • Without being like His creation
  • We do not ask how
  • He does not change, because if he changes than He would be like us
  • This is a clear proof
  • It is impossible for Allah to change
  • "Change" is the most obvious attribute of the creation
  • This is the mental proof
  • This is sufficient



    • Second Sermon
  • I praise Allah, I thank Him
  • And I ask Allah to raise the rank of our Prophet Muhammad
  • Allah ordered us in the Qur'an to believe in Him properly and to be kind to our parents
  • Also be kind to the neighbors, even the females
  • Fellow Muslims, obey Allah
  • Do not question about matters that have no significance to you
  • Treat your neighbor the way you would want them to treat you
  • He was surprised that Sahl was patient with him for so long
  • This caused him to become Muslim
  • Because of the way that his neighbor treated him he became Muslim
  • Think of how many people have enmity towards their neighbors, this is the case nowadays
  • This is not what the Prophet Muhammad taught us, he told us to treat our neighbors kindly
  • We are falling short in treating the neighbors kindly
  • Some do not even know who their neighbors are
  • Be good to them, for the sake of Allah
  • Bring them with you when you come to the Musallah
  • I praise Allah, I thank Him, and I ask him to raise the rank of our master Muhammad SAW



    • Jummah class
  • Last class we were talking about the prohibited things
  • Allah bestowed upon us endowments and blessing and the obligatory thanking is to use these endowments and blessings in obedience to him
  • This hand that we have, if it does good then we will be rewarded for it
  • This stomach if we consume what we are allowed to consume then we will be rewarded for it
  • There are Angels that document our deeds
  • We monitor ourselves because we fear the punishment of Allah
  • Among the things that is forbidden to consume is alcohol
  • Likewise if the person consumes the money of the orphan unjustly
  • The orphan has special judgements that apply to him
  • If someone makes a house specifically for the poor if someone is not poor then they are not allowed to benefit from it
  • No one can build a store in that place
  • In a way that is not in compliance
  • If they make the person give the money out of shyness
  • This is haraam
  • It is not permissible to consume the money of the Muslim unjustly
  • It is revealed in the Qur'an
  • The Prophet SAW warned us about the sinful look
  • The most sin that people do is the forbidden glance
  • There is an inclination for the male to look at the female
  • There is a Qudsi Hadeeth that says that the sinful look is from the arrows of the shaytan
  • He will be granted a good feeling in his heart for the sinful look that he avoided for the sake of Allah
  • The sinful look will lead to something bigger
  • Sometimes the person gets attached to certain things
  • What will help is if he keeps company with people that constantly remember Allah
  • It is not permissible to look at anything except the face and hands
  • Looking at other than the face or hand is haaram
  • It is not permissible for the female to look at the woman except between the naval and the knees
  • It's haaram to look at something if somebody hid it
  • When the person is in their house they are relaxing
  • So it's not permissible to look at somebody's house without their permission
  • Allah will put in that person's heart a sweetness for avoiding that look
  • The one who avoids that sin is better than praying 1,000 rak'ahs
  • When the person leaves out these sins he rises
  • The correct Creed is that this universe has a Creator
  • He Hears unlike we hear
  • Everything happens according to His Will
  • This is how he rises
  • Combined with being inclined towards her
  • It's a specific wanting that occurs in the heart
  • Sometimes that inclination occurs as a result of words
  • Most people fall into the sin of lustful looking
