Obligatory Knowledge

ABOUT

the high status of knowledge has been established very strongly in Islam through explicit texts in the Qu'ran and Hadith, as well as in the writings of many scholars in Islam

Allah said in the Qu'ran that He raises the rank of those among you who believe and were granted the knowledge

Also Allah said in the Qur'an those who know are not equal to those who do not know

Also Allah said in the Qur'an those who have the knowledge fear Allah the most

Moreover, Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad to praise the status of knowledge, it's teachers, and it's students

The Prophet(may Allah raise his rank) said 'O Abu Dahr(one of the companions), if you go and learn one verse of the Qur'an it will be more rewardable for you than praying 100 Rakkaths of the optional prayer, and if you go and learn one chapter of the obligatory knowledge it will be more rewardable for you than praying 1,000 Rakkaths of the optional prayer

Imam Ali Abu Talib the fourth Caliph said knowledge is better than money, because knowledge protects you whereas you protect money

knowledge rules over things whereas money is ruled over

money diminishes as you spend it, whereas spending the knowledge by teaching it to others increases your reward
