5 Daily Prayer

Salat

Salat is the first act of worship and the MOST IMPORTANT. May Allah bless the one who performs prayer regularly. May the curse of the Angels, jinns, and humans be on the one who does not pray or feel as if they can pray at any time they want.

"Salat is the best among all acts of worship. If it is accepted by the Almighty Allah,
other acts of worship are also accepted.
And, if prayers are not accepted,
other acts are also not accepted."




Conditions for the validity of prayer
  1. Islam- the prayer performed by a non-Muslim is not valid
  2. Ablution- Purification is half of the religion
  3. Reaching the age of mental discrimination- this is the age at which the child can understand when spoken to and can answer when asked
  4. Having purity- in the body, clothes, and place in which the prayer is being performed
  5. Covering of the unlawful nakedness- the male has to cover between the naval and knees, the female has to cover all of her body except for the face and hands
  6. One must know the prayer time has set in- the performer of the prayer must know the prayer time is in
  7. One must be facing the Qibla- direct one's chest towards the Qibla,
    one must be facing the holy Kaba in the honorable Mecca

    Integrals


    Praying
    • The Integrals are part of the prayer
    • There are 17 Integrals
    • An example of an integral is standing up for the prayer. If one is able to
    • Another integral is prostrating and bowing
    • Remaining still is an Integral
    • Saying "Allah 'akbar" at the beginning of the prayer is also an integral
    • The most important Integral is the Intention , which must be present in the heart when one is saying "Allah 'akbar" at the beginning of the prayer
    • There are many more Integrals, remember there are 17 in all

      Ablution
      • The conditions of Salat are not part of the deed/prayer
      • Allah knows best how many conditions there are
        • I believe it's 6, or around that area, I'm not too sure
      • The first condition is always the Intention
      • The prayer time has to be in for the validity of the prayer. Even if one does a prayer 5 minutes ahead or before the prayer time than one's prayer is rendered invalid
      • Covering the "awrah. If one prays with their awrah uncovered than their prayer is rendered invalid
      • Tahaarah- Purity. This is of two types, purity from ritual impurity (hadath) and purity from tangible impurity (najas)
