“I’m not scared of anything happening to me.” Jason said as he dropped his head and looked down.
“I just… don’t wanna… die and leave you behind.” Jason said.
“I don’t wanna be alone… and I don’t want you to be alone.”
Christy starred deep into her husband’s eyes.
“Awwwww baby…”
“We’re not gonna be alone, remember you promised?” Christy said, then she held out her pinky finger towards his face and shook it.
Jason looked at her pinky as it shook in front of his face. He then grabbed it with his left hand and slowly kissed it. He then placed his hands on her stomach and began to rub.
“I know baby… But this is why you gotta have my son. So if anything happens to me than I can leave something behind for you.” Said Jason.
Christy smiled and began to laugh.
“Bae shut up…” She said as she laughed softly.
“You got that from that movie.” Said Christy.
Jason smiled back and laughed softly. “Bae but forreal though.” He said.
“I don’t wanna die…” He added.
“Bae omg you’re not gonna die.” She said.
“Stop being a drama queen.”
“Ard bae but I’m just saying, if I die then…” Jason began to say,
“Okay bae can we please change the subject? I don’t wanna talk about this anymore.”
“Ard baby, what you wanna talk about?” Jaosn asked.
Christy gave a short pause. “Idk baby… I just wanna lay here and stare at you.”
“Okay baby…” Jason said as he looked at her in the eyes.
“Do you wanna have a starring contest?” He asked.
Christy began to smile again. “Okay!” She said.
“Ard bae, the first one to blink loses okay?” He said.
Christy began to smile. “Okay… what do I get if I win?” She asked.
Jason gave a short pause and began to think.
“You gon’ get this LONG…!” He thought to himself.
“Bae I’ma give you a kiss… and you can ask me one secret question about me and I promise to answer truthfully.” Jason said.
“Truthfully bae? No lies?” She asked.
Jason smiled. “Yeah bae I promise.”
“No lie, no lie, no liee…” He began to sing.
Christy smiled and began to laugh. “Omg bae you love that song.”
“Okay you ready bae?” He asked his wife.
“Yeah I’m ready, let’s go.” She said.
Jason smiled and began thinking about football practice.
“Letss goo! High knees ya’ll!!” Jason said.
Christy erupted in laughter. “Omg you is soo stupid!” She said.
“Ard come on though, foreal foreal.” Jason said, he then gave a straight face and began to stare in her eyes. Then he stopped and blinked.
“Wait bae… What am I going to get if I win?” He asked.
“Idk bae… what you want?” She asked,
“I want… umm…” Jason began to tap his chin with his finger and think.
“Keep it a bean bae… I want some head.” He said.
Christy gave a straight face. “No boy! Pick something else.” She said.
Jason placed his finger on his chin and began to tap again.

He then grabbed a hold of Christy’s hand and placed it on his chest and looked deep into her eye.
“I just want you to be my babygirl forever and to never leave me.” Jason said as he stared deep into her eyes.
Christy starred back, and her eyes began to gleam.
“Awwwww… really bae?” She asked.
“Actually, naw, that’s corney.” Jason said.
Christy dropped her hands from his chest then she sucked her teeth.
“Bae this is what I want though… can you buy me a jean jacket and some Air Max’s?” He asked.
Christy gave a short pause. She was still upset about what Jason just did.
“No boy! You only choose ONE!” She said.
“Either the jean jacket or the Air Max’s?”
Jason began to pout his bottom lip and almost broke in tears.
“But… but… I want both.” He quietly said.
“Oh… well…” She said.
“You should’ve thought of that before you decided to be funny.”
Jason continued to pout his bottom lip.
“But… but… you get the kiss and you get to ask me a question. That’s two things bae, and I only get one.” He said in a little boy’s voice.
Christy began to smile and rolled her eyes.
“Oh… well…”
“This isn’t Burger King bae.”
Jason continued to look at her and began to frown.
“I hate you!” She said.
“I hate you too… now are you gonna pick one or…?”
“FINE! I want the sneakers bae.” He said.
“Okay… is that your final decision?” She asked.
Jason slowly nodded his head up and down.
“K bae… if you win… then tomorrow when you come over we’ll go to the mall and buy them okay?” She said.
“K bae, you ready?” Said Jason.
“Yeah, come on.” Christy replied back.
Jason started to shake his head really fast from side to side and rapidly blink.
Christy began to laugh as she looked at Jason.
“Bae you look gay closing and opening your eyeS like that, stop doing that.” She said.
Jason ignored her statement. “Ard come on, let’s go.” Jason said.
Christy pushed her face forward and so did Jason. Both their noses were now touching. Their eyes locked as they starred at one another.
Jason had a straight face on as he stared at her. Christy was smiling and almost laughing, but only because of the serious look that Jason was giving her.
As Jason looked deep into his wife’s eye he could see everything. Her eyes sparkled, they were so beautiful, Jason thought to himself. As he continued to look he could see… He saw Christy crying. He saw her lying in bed. He saw her hugging her stomach. He saw Arnold… and he saw… Abdul.
“Allah can do anything.” The words echoed in his head and then he blinked.

“Ahhh! Bae you blinked!” She said as she began laughing.
“What was that?” Jason thought to himself. He now knew… She had seen it too. The same dream at the train tracks, she seen it. She knew, she just knew. Jason now knew that she knew more about it then he did, but she wasn’t telling him. But why? What did she see?
“I want my kiss bae!” Christy said.
Jason did not hear her statement. He kept looking straight in her eyes trying to see what he had just seen. It wasn’t there anymore though; he could only see his reflection.
“Bae… gimme my kiss!” She said again.
Jason heard her now. He placed both his hands at the side of her head and pulled her forehead in and kissed.
Christy smiled as he withdrew his face from her head.
“Now ask me bae…?” He said.
“Anything…?” She asked.
“Yup… anything!” He replied.
“Okay… umm…” Christy began to think.
“Why do you love me?” She asked.
Jason gave a deep sigh. “Omg…” He said quietly under his breath.
“Bae you said I could ask you anything!” She said.
Jason began to think. “Hmm… ‘why do I love you?’” He said.
Christy drew her chest close to Jason as she wrapped his hand around him.
“Yeah bae… Why do you love me?” She said.
Jason turned his head to the side to look away from her, then he turned it back and gazed into her eyes.
“Bae I love you cause you’re different.” He said as he stared deep into her eyes.
“Awwwww…” Christy softly said.
“I love you cause you’re loyal, I love you cause you have the prettiest eyes in the world, I love you cause you’re faithful to me, I love you cause you’re smart, I love you cause you’re the most beautiful girl in the world. As for now you are the most beautiful girl in the world, but once we have our daughter you will be the second, and she will be the first.” Jason said as he gazed deep into her eyes.
“Awwwwwwww…” Christy said.
She continued to look at Jason in his eyes as he looked back.
“Bae you can get both the jean jacket and the sneakers okay?” She said.

Lisa lightly knocked on the door. Christy’s head was laid on Jason’s chest.
“Come in!” Jason said.
Lisa slowly turned the doorknob and stepped in.
“Christy… It’s almost 10:30, do you want me to take you home now?” She asked.
Christy lifted her head off Jason’s chest.
“Yes, but Mr. Mohammed said…”
“He’s not going to go to work anymore… Come on I’ll take you okay.” Lisa said.
Christy nodded her head. She then got up off the bed and got her hoodie and handbag from Jason’s closet. Jason got up and walked up to his wife and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek.
“I love you.” He said.
“I love you too.” Christy said as she hugged back.
“Aawwwww” Lisa began to think to herself as she looked at the two lovers.
“Call me when you get home okay?” He said to her.
Christy nodded her head up and down. She then walked over to where Lisa was standing at the doorway, then she walked out with her and closed the door.
Jason laid his head back on the bed and started thinking. That look that she had in her eyes. Christy knew. She knew! And she knew more than him. Something happened that she was not telling him. Jason had to get answers, someway, somehow? But from who? He couldn’t ask Christy… He couldn’t ask his father. He tried earlier but he completely broke down and Jason didn’t know what happened. The only one he could ask was the only person that was on the train tracks with him. Abdul. He had to find him and ask him about what happened? And he also had to ask him about this “Allah” character, and Who He is. For some reason, His name kept popping in his head. Who is He and what does he have to do with all of this? Jason reclined his head on the pillow and let his many thought roam his head. He closed his eyes and began to…
His phone rang, snapping him out of his thoughts. Jason knew that it was Christy, he hurriedly rushed to pick it up without looking at the Caller ID.
“Hello?” He said.
Violet’s voice came on. “Jason…”
“Jason…” She called again.
Jason sighed deeply.
“Yes?” He answered back.
“Why didn’t you pick up my calls earlier?” She asked.
“I was sleep…” Jason said.
Violet gave a short pause. “Did you tell her?” She asked.
“Tell who?” He asked back.
“Christy. Did you tell her that you don’t want to be with her no more?” She asked.
“I know she was over your house today, Roxanne told me.” She said.
Jason gave a long pause and began to think deeply.
“Naw… I forget… I’ma do that jawn tomorrow.” He said.
“Jason… you are lying. She was over there today and you could’ve done it.” She said.
“I’m not lying, I was sleeping that’s why when she…”
Before Jason could finish what he was saying Christy started calling him from the other line. Jason immediately hung up the phone and switched over on the line.
“Wassup bae.” He said.
“Are you home now?”
Jason could hear Christy on the other end of the line as she was taking off her shoes and the rest of her clothes.
“Yeah, I just got in.” She said.
“Bae I miss you. What you doing?” He asked.
Christy giggled lightly. “I miss you too. Nothing bae just taking off my clothes, finna lay down and go to sleep. What about you?” She said.
“Bae why you taking off your clothes to go to sleep?” He asked.
“Cause my room is hot, and I don’t sleep with any clothes on.” She said.
Jason began to laugh softly. “Bae you’s a freak!” He said.
Christy laughed back and smiled. “No I am not!” She said while smiling.
“Bae so you gon take me to the mall tomorrow to buy me the jean jacket and sneakers right?” Jason asked.
“Yess boy! Didn’t I say I would? What time are you coming?” She asked.
“Soon as I wake up, 7-8am.” He said.
“Okay baby. Go to sleep I’m finna get some ice cream and go to sleep.” She said.
“K bae… why you gotta be so fat all the time though?” Jason asked.
Christy laughed out loud. “I’m not fat!” She said.
“I just don’t wanna waste, this ice cream been in the freezer for the longest.”
“Ard bae, go eat your ice cream, I’m finna go to sleep.” Said Jason.
“Ard luh you bae.” Jason said quickly.
Christy didn’t say anything, she just remained on the line while breathing. After a few seconds Jason finally spoke.
“I SAID I…”
“Jason I know what you said!” Christy said out loud.
“I’m not gonna answer until you say it correctly. Remember, you said that you was gonna start treating me better?” She said.
Jason sighed heavily. “OKAAY!”
“I said… I… love… you… Christy!” Jason said.
Christy smiled. “And I.Love.You.Too.Jason!” She said.
“Call me tomorrow mor…”
“Naw, actually you said that you gon come by 7-8am right?” She asked.
“Yes, that’s correct.” Jason said.
“Okay, well I’ll just see you tomorrow morning then okay.” Said Christy.
“K, bye bae.” Jason said.
He then hung up the phone. Jason got up from his bed and walked over to the far wall on the other side of the corner to flick off the light switch. He then went and laid down on his bed. He turned his head to the TV screen, another NBA game was playing. Now it was the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets. “Lakers got this!” He thought to himself. Then Jason remembered that the star player Kobe Bryant retired last year, he then switched off the TV and turned his head on the pillow and slowly drifted.

The sound of the chirping birds woke him up. Since it was mid-Spring more of the warm blooded animals like birds and butterflies were starting to come back out. Jason laid his head on the pillow and didn’t move for a few seconds. He started thinking about his upcoming 14th birthday, April 26th. He wondered as to what he was going to do and how he would spend it. Then Christy came to his mind and he quickly shot up. He unhooked his phone from the outlet on the side of his bed and turned it on.
“6:33am”, he also had one missed call from Jerry. He turned the screen on his phone off and placed it in his pocket, he then went to his closet and put on a blue and gray Polo shirt with a pair of jeans. Afterwards he threw on some socks and put on his sneakers. Jason then walked over to his dresser drawer on the side of his room and took out and Old Spice deodorant and applied it in his armpits. Jason then walked out of his room. He decided to go into his parents’ room to tell them that he is about to go to Christy’s.
He knocked once… no response. He knocked twice… no response. On the third knock Lisa said “Come in!”
Jason then turned the doorknob and quietly crept in. His mother was laying down in the bed with a gray blanket sheet over her, he turned his head to look for his father. He found him… he was in the same position that he saw him at last night, he hadn’t moved.
“What’s wrong baby?” Lisa asked.
“Mom I’m bouta go to Christy’s okay, I’ll be back later.” He said.
His mom nodded her head. He then walked out the room and closed the door.
It was just a brisk walk to Christy’s house. Just one town over.
Jason arrived to her front steps and rang the doorbell. On the first ring Christy came to the door and opened up. She had on a miniskirt and a tight blue graphic design T-Shirt that had the words “I kiss girls and boys!” in pink.
Jason stood at the doorway and looked at her.
“I hope you’re not gonna be dressed like that when we go out?” He said.
Christy began to giggle. “No bae, only for you. Come inside.”
Jason stepped inside and started to take his shoes off. Christy went and sat down on the white round couch in the middle of the living room.
“Bae did you eat?” She asked.
“Naw…” Jason replied as he kicked his shoes off.
“Could you make me something? I’m mad hungry.” He said.
Christy then got up off the couch and started to walk to the kitchen. She extended her arms out and moaned as she stretched.
“What you want me to make you bae?” She asked as she walked into the kitchen.
“Uhhh…” Jason said.
The sound of her moaning still echoed in head.
“Surprise me.” He said.
Christy then walked over to the freezer and opened it up.
“You want me to make you some sausages bae?” She asked.
“Uhh.. Yeah.” Jason said.
“But first come here, I gotta tell you something.” Jason said.
Christy walked over to where Jason was standing at the doorway of the kitchen.
“Wassup bae?” She said.
Jason started to rub the side of her arms as she stood in front of him.
“Bae remember yesterday… You said that you were gonna give me some head.” He said.
Christy began to smile. “Baee but you lost!” She said.
“You lost the starring contest baby.”
“So no head for you.” Christy added.
Jason let go of her arms and dropped his head and began to sulk and pout.
“Oh… yeah…” He said then he slowly walked to the couch to sit down, he lifted his legs up and stuck out his bottom lip and continued to pout.
Christy walked over to the couch and sat down next to him and began to rub the side of his face.
“Awww… what’s wrong baby?” She asked.
Jason didn’t respond. He turned his head to the side and continued to pout. Crocodile tears began to well up in his eyes.
“I just…”
“I just…” Jason said as he sniffled.
“I just really wanted… some head.” He said then he sniffled.
