It tasted even better than it looked! It was an orgasmic explosion in my mouth. Before I knew it I was on the second pack of Oreos. The apple juice that I was drinking was almost finished, I had drunk about half of it down. So it was half empty, or half full, I thought to myself. My introspective nature told me that the marijuana effects had not left my body yet, it was quite apparent. I was still thinking about random stuff that made no sense.
While starring at the Oreo I was getting ready to eat I began to think “why is it that every cookie is shaped like a circle?” Was it a marketing strategy or something? Would they seem less appetizing if they were in the shape of a square? I finished eating the last piece and put the last pack on the side of the bed as I jugged down the half full, or half empty apple juice. I then laid on the bed and began to stare at the ceiling.
I imagined that I was staring at the empty sky and stars were all over it. I lifted my hands up and began to count the stars. That star look like Jahlisa’s shiny forehead. That other star looked like Christy’s pretty eyes. Ahh… Christy. I began to think about her. She was all I could think about.
Waiit, Christy… CHRISTY! I quickly rolled over on the bed and went to pick up the phone that was on the side of my bed charging. I looked at the time on my phone, 4:55pm! I quickly scrolled down to “C” on my contacts list and found her name, I tapped it and called her.
It rang once… It rang twice… It rang thrice. I was beginning to think that she probably gave me the wrong number, I chuckled to myself.
“Hello.” Came Christy’s soft dull voice on the other end of the line.
I started to breathe hard on the phone speakers, pretending to sound like Darth Vader, I made a cup with my fist and put it against my mouth as I continued to breathe hard.
“Hello… Christy!” I exhaled twice very deeply.
She chuckled softly, “Hello Jason.” She said.
My voice returned to normal. “How you know it was me?” I asked her.
She chuckled again. “Your voice is not hard to decipher.” She said.
“What are you trying to say?” I said in my father’s Liberian accent.
She laughed aloud. “Nothing, your voice is cute that’s all.” She said.
I didn’t respond. She said my voice was cute, she totally wants me. I could tell, whenever a girl tells you that then that means that she wants you, I think.
“Anyways… what you doing?” I asked her, trying to change the subject into something more serious and subtle.
“Nothing, just in my room watching TV, what about you boy?” She said.
Wow, she was doing the exact same thing that my little sister was doing, why was I not surprised. I knew she was probably watching that “Bad Girls Club” monstrosity show that Mr. Bulk was talking about earlier in class.
“You wanna hear a joke?” I asked.
“Yeah, you are permissed.” Christy said while smiling.
“OK OK, you ready?” I asked while smiling, this joke that I’m about to tell her is going to be so funny and she’s going to laugh so hard, I can tell.
“Why did the seatbelts become friend?” I asked.
“Idk, why Jason?” Christy said while half laughing.
“Because... They JUST CLICKED!” I said out loud and began laughing. I rolled over my bed and slapped my knees.
“HAHAHA! Isn’t that funny? Because you get it, when you put a seatbelt on the onomatopoeic sound that it makes is like a “click”, and when two people are really good friends then it’s suitable to say that they “click”, in the sense that they have a really strong bond and relationship. I continued laughing out loud and stuck my tongue out. “ISN’T THAT FUNNY?” I yelled out and asked her.
Christy laughed out loud as well, I can tell she was dying. She gripped her stomach while laughing. “OMG! YOU ARE SOO CORNY!” She said to me.
She was telling me that I was banal or dull, that wasn’t very nice for her to say. I was thinking about that joke all day. I was very offended by that. Even though I only really heard that joke at school today but still… How rude of her!
“TAKE THAT BACK!” I yelled at her.
Christy was still laughing, “And if I don’t. What you gonna do boy?”
I thought for a moment. “I’ll come over there and beat you with a stick.”
Christy sighed and stopped laughing. “Well… You can come over here but I don’t think you gon’ beat me with a stick.” She said.
“Yeah you right, I’ma be too busy beating something else.”
“Beating what exactly Jason?” She asked me with one eyebrow raised up.
I thought for a moment. Maybe I shouldn’t say what I was thinking about saying. It might be too soon for that. I laughed to myself.
“Nothing never mind, It’s far too explicit for your childish ears to hear.” I said.
“No tell me, I wanna know.” Christy said.
