Chapter 9

Me and Christy stood there on her doorway. My hands were wrapped around her waist, and her small arms wrapped around my stomach. She didn’t draw back; she kissed me back as I was kissing her. Both of our eyes were closed. A slight wind blew and her long black hair swung and brushed across my face. I brushed it off and began to rub her cheeks as I kissed her.

I didn’t want that moment to ever come to an end. I really enjoyed kissing her, and I could tell that she enjoyed kissing me as well. I started thinking back when me and Violet were kissing in room 4325. There was a huge difference between me and Violet kissing and when me and Christy were kissing. With Violet, it was only passion and desire, I had a burning passion for her, and she had a burning passion for me. When me and Christy kissed, passion was definitely there. As well as love, a connection and pleasure. Not just sensual pleasure, but something more, something deeper.

We stood there and kissed for about five minutes. Then I brushed off the hair from her eyes and drew back and looked at her deeply in the eyes, she looked at me back.

“Please marry me…” I said to her.

She continued staring at me, I stared back. She then reached over with her hands and wiped the little bit of sweat that was on my forehead.

“Please marry me.” I quietly said to her again.

“I love you…” I said to her.

Her eyes began to glitter as she stared at me, and tiny bits of tears began to well up in them. After a few seconds the tears fully formed in her eyes, and they began to trickle down her cheek. I reached over with my hand and wiped them off, just like she had wiped off the sweat from my forehead.

“Jason… I…” she began to say, before she could finish her sentence I reached over with my head and kissed her again.

“Let’s go inside okay?” I said to Christy. She nodded her head gently and I held her hands as me and her both walked inside.

As we walked through the front door we entered the living room. The temperature in there was temperate, not too hot, and not too cold, which greatly complimented the warm Spring weather outside, There was a ceiling fan and a small chandelier hanging up from the ceiling. A few pictures were up on the walls, there were two on the far left corner, with a book shelf right next to it. There was another picture all the way at the end of the corner in the living room. The pictures were not live pictures of people, only a picture of a garden and a star lit sky, There was a lamp post with a small table with a few books on top of it that was placed to the right corner of the living room, you could see it as soon as you walk into the house. There was also a large long white couch at the center of the living room, with a carpet and a small round table directly at the center of the living room and in front of the couch. The living room had a footrest right underneath the table, though it looked like nobody ever uses it. The table was white, with a few papers and pens and two remote controls at the top of it. There were also two brown chairs that were at the far left of the center of the room. Right above the brown chairs was a huge flat screen television that clung to the wall. The carpet that was at the center of the living room only covered up the space in the living room in which the couch and the other two brown chairs were at. The rest of the living room was covered with a wooden floor with a type of swivel pattern on it.

“Should I take off my shoes?” I asked Christy as I gently closed the door behind me.

“No, you don’t have to, go sit down.” Christy told me as she let go of my hands and walked in the kitchen at the end of the living room. I did just as she said, kept my shoes on and gently went to sit down at the brown couch that was at the center of the living room.

A few seconds later Christy appeared out of the kitchen, she was carrying a bowl with some chips on it, I didn’t know what kind of chips they were, and she was also carrying a water bottle with a few napkins on the same hand that she was holding the bowl.

She came and sat down next to me. She then took one of the napkins and began to wipe the sweat that was on my forehead. She then opened up the water bottle and she told me to drink. I gently took the water bottle from her hand and drank some of the water inside, then I tightened back the cap on it and gently placed the water bottle on top of the small round white table that was in front of the couch.

Christy then took my hands and covered it with hers and then she looked me in my eyes and asked me “What happened Jason? What’s wrong?” Christy asked me softly.

I started to gather my thought in my head. I thought about maybe telling her about Violet, and my experience with her at school. I then decided that maybe that wouldn’t be best. I wouldn’t want her to cut off her relationship with Violet, I knew that they were really good friends and that they had been close friends for a long time, and I didn’t want her to find out something that might make her want to cut off her friendship with her. And also, I definitely didn’t want her to know that me and Violet had an encounter like that, even though I managed to get out of it and stop before it went too far, I wanted her to completely trust me, and I didn’t want to give her any reason not to. I knew exactly what I was going to tell her. I was going to tell her the truth.

I held onto her hand as she held on to mines. Then I turned my face slightly so that her eyes could meet with mines. I wanted her to look deeply into my eyes so that she could know that everything I was going to tell her was sincere and true. I didn’t blink as I looked at her. I began to slowly rub my hands against her.

“Christy…” I said.

She adjusted the way that she was seated and she came closer to me.

“Yes…?” She replied to me with starry eyes.

“Look… I don’t know you, I only began talking to you yesterday.” I said to her while making sure to take pauses between breaths, I wanted to choose my words wisely, I knew that this was going to be the only chance that I get to tell her this.

“But I can’t stop thinking about you. Last night when you got off the phone with me I felt like my world ended, I wanted to call you back, I wanted to hear your voice again, I wanted to hear your laugh. I had a discussion with my father last night, and I came into fruition. I now realize what I want, what I need. And I know that I’m still young, and you’re young, and we haven’t really gone anywhere yet. But wherever you and I may go, I want us to go together, I want us to be together. I don’t want you to be my girlfriend or anything like that, I’ve seen how that ends up and I don’t want that, I want something different… I need something different.”

Christy slowly drew back her left hand and covered her mouth with it. I could not see whether or not she was frowning or smiling, but I certainly hoped for the latter.

“Something happened to me today, and I can’t tell you, not because I don’t trust you or anything like that, but because I don’t want it to get in the way or hinder the type of relationship that I want to have with you. I want you to be my wife, and…” Tears now began to trickle down Christy’s cheek. As soon as I saw the tears I was reminded of the miniature angel looking figure and how it was crying when me and Violet was in room 4325.

I gripped her hands tighter, and I deeply looked in her eyes, I made sure to have a straight face while looking at her so that she can know that I was completely serious.

“I have never wanted anything as bad as this in my life, you are the girl that I want, I want you to be my wife, I want you to be the future mother of my children, I want to have everything with you.” I said to her.

I then got up from the couch and kneeled down on the carpeted floor. As Christy saw this she then covered her mouth with both of her hands. The tears began to fall faster down her cheek, and her eyes were now red.

As I kneeled to the floor I opened up my arms wide to her.

“This is me… I don’t have a ring, I don’t have a job, I don’t have anything to offer you, except for my heart. I don’t know how this is going to happen, but I want it to, I want… to be happy, I want to make you happy. No other girl in this world can ever make me happy like you can. It’s you that I want, you’re the only one…” I said to her as I knelt on the floor with my arms wide open. I grabbed her left hand that was covered over her mouth. I grabbed it and kissed the back of her hand.

“Please marry me, please make me happy. I love you…” I said to Christy as I looked at her directly in the eyes. I gave a soft kiss at the back of her hands again, and again. She didn’t draw back her hand, she allowed me to kiss it.

Christy looked at me as I was knelt down on the floor and her left hand was in my mines. I gave it another kiss. With every kiss that I gave her hand tears trickled down her cheek.

I held onto her hand and gripped it tight, then I lifted it up and gently placed it down to my chest, so that she could feel my heart beat.

“Do you hear that?” I softly said to her with my head down, referring to my heart beating.

Christy didn’t say anything, she just kept looking at me as the tears fell down her cheeks. I asked her again. “Do you hear that?”

Christy still did not respond, and then after a few seconds she slowly nodded her head up and down.

I lifted my head and looked deeply into her eyes.

“It’s beating for you okay. And Christy…” I said to her. Now she was sobbing.

I got up from the floor and sat next to her on the couch. Then I grabbed one of the paper towels that was laying on the brown table. I took it and delicately began to wipe all the tears that were falling down her cheeks. I then removed her right hand that she was using to cover some of her eyes and her mouth with. Her eyes were completely red. Her bottom lip was quivering. I looked deep into her eyes and kissed her cheek, making sure that I could taste all the salty tears that were falling down. Then I wrapped my arms around her neck.

“Please say yes.” I whispered in her ear as I hugged her.
