First Sermon

  • These attributes because they were mentioned so many times it's an obligation to know them
  • It's enough for the person to understand their meaning
  • Right after he says the Shahada we teach him these attributes
  • It's considered a major sin to not know these attributes
  • The first of these attributes is Existence
  • The word is the same but the meaning is different
  • Our existence is dependent upon Allah
  • There is no doubt
  • Changing is an attribute of the creation
  • The second attribute is Oneness
  • If there were more than one god what would happen if one wanted John to be dead and the other wanted him to be alive?
  • The third attribute is no beginning
  • If He had a beginning than He needs to be specified with that beginning
  • The fourth attribute is no end
  • The next attribute is non-neediness
  • We are weak, we need Allah
  • He is the One Who makes our body work
  • Allah did not create us because He needed something from us
  • The next attribute is Power
  • He does whatever He wills with His Power
  • The next attribute is Will
  • The next attribute is Knowledge
  • His Hearing is one, it does not change. Meaning it does not increase nor decrease
  • The next attribute are Hearing and Sight
  • He does not need any of these instruments
  • His Life is not like our life
  • Our life consists of a body, soul, etc...
  • Our speech starts and finishes
  • Allah does not resemble any of His creations in any way whatsoever

  • Second Sermon

  • Allah orders the believers to perform Salat
  • Do acts of worship
  • Do all kind of good deeds so that you can be winners on the Day of Judgement
  • He created certain times of the year that are blessed
  • The night that preceeds the day of Shabban
  • They were keen on observing that day
  • The 15th of Shabban is Tuesday
  • Monday after midnight is blessed
  • Stay up most of the night performing prayer
  • On that night Allah orders an angel to call out
  • "Is there anyone in need of something"
  • Until the dawn breaks
  • All of the attributes of Allah are attributes of perfection
  • He was attributed with them eternally
  • He will never lose these attributes
  • The Kalam of Allah is not a language
  • All of the creations of Allah are prone to change
  • Allah's Will does not change because of the Dua
  • He is not wasting his time because making Dua is an act of worship in which he would get rewarded for
  • It's an honor to be a slave of Allah
  • If his Dua is not answered the Muslim is still a winner
  • The statement could be misunderstood if it relates to Allah changing His Will
  • Be careful with your words when making Dua
  • We do not make our own Dua
  • Asking Allah to change His Will is blasphemy
  • It's better to refer to the Dua of the Prophet (PBUH)
  • This coming Tuesday is the 15th of Shabban
  • This is a special occasion
  • Allah's Knowledge is eternal
  • Allah will forgive some Muslims
  • Allah will specify the believers
  • Except for an idol worshipper or a non-believer
  • Allah does not forgive the one who dies as a nonbeliever
  • Allah does not forgive the Muslim who has enmity in his heart for another Muslim
  • If we have harmed that Muslim
  • Don't wait till midnight on the 15th of Shabban

  • Jummah Class

  • Allah does not give anyone reward unless his intention is sincere
  • "This person is so good he prays all the time" this person will not get any reward
  • So always think about and remember to have the sincere intention
  • We ask Allah to facilitate for us this manner
  • When he was studying in the university he would not pray
  • He did not pray because of laziness
  • Shaykh Samir told him that he needs to pray
  • He came back angry, he was annoyed, he wasn't expecting the test to be that difficult
  • But instead of doing that he canceled the lesson with Shaykh Samir
  • He left the house, he didn't come back
  • And then Shaykh Samir heard in the news that this person died
  • He died before he learned and before he prayed
  • Even to the extent that the color of this fire is black
  • The one who leaves out the prayer is damned
  • When the prayer was first made an obligation it was 50 prayers
  • These five prayers have the reward of 50
  • He passed by Prophet Musa
  • He asked Allah to make it less and it was lessened by five
  • Until it came down to five
  • "I am too shy to go back"
  • The one who prays the five prayers gets the reward of 50
  • It will be a salvation on Judgement Day
  • The prayer is a light for the person on Judgement Day
  • No dirt will be left on him if he washes five times a day
  • Allah erases the small sins
  • It will be a cause for the person to stay away from haram
  • At night he prays and in the day he steals
  • Allah does not benefit from our prayers
  • Who's the one that is harmed?
  • The person when they get up to do the prayer they do it with joy and happiness
  • The biggest tranquility and peace is the prayer
  • The Prophet would tell Bilal to call the Adhan for the prayer
  • We have to get used to it
  • Their hearts were attached to Salah
  • The Prophets are alive in their graves praying
  • They pray out of enjoyment
  • They found him in the grave praying
  • He would recite the entire Qur'an in one unit of prayer
  • He would love to be in the prayer
  • If he did not love the prayer he would not have stayed up for that long
  • The angels pray the five daily prayers
  • There are angels that go around the Arsh saying Dhikr
  • That's a very small number compared to the number of angels going around the Arsh praying
  • After hearing that how can the person fall short in performing the prayer?
  • We ask Allah to grant us the application to do the prayers
  • Some people if they do not wake up for Fajr Allah will send an angel to wake that person, or a righteous jinn
  • We're not able to speak unless Allah gives us the power
  • Next week we'll talk about what's related to the prayer
