"Jason was closer to me than all of you!"

Abdul was left in the room by himself again. He laid his back on the bed and gazed up at the ceiling.

"Allah is my Lord. He is The One that I belong to. My Lord has no partners. He is All-Powerful. I worship my Lord because He is deserving. Indeed, Allaah is One with no partners. Indeed..."

Abdul's iPhone began to ring. It was Shay. He immediately picked up.

     "Hello?" Abdul said.

"Hey, can you please come to the dining room please." Shay said through the phone.

"Okay. Be there in a jiffy." Abdul said and hung up.

He then rushed out the room and went down the stairs.

Shay was seated on the couch, her hands were on her lap. Tabitha was walking out the kitchen, she sat next to Shay on the couch.

"Abdul, please sit down." Tabitha said and gestured her hand.

Abdul sat calmly on the couch next to his wife. He placed his hand on top of Shay's.

"I just brewed up some coffee and I made some tuna fish sandwiches..."

"No, thank you mother. I am not allowed to consume any liquid or solid matter until Maghrib. For I am fasting today, solely for the sake of my Lord." Abdul said.

"Oh. Don't Ramadan come in a couple months in June?" Tabitha asked.

"Precisely. This is a superogatory or Sunnah fast that I am doing outside of Ramadan. I missed a couple days last year in Ramadan so I have to do an expiation and make it up." Abdul said.

"Oh okay. How many days did you miss?" Tabitha asked.

     "Allaah Knows best." Abdul replied.

Tabitha nodded her head.

"Yes, yes He does." Tabitha replied.

"Now, honey. I wanted to talk to you about what has been going on with your father and stepmother. And what they accused you of. I want you to realize the severity of this. In no way is this a small matter." Tabitha said.

     "Yes. I agree completely.

"I have contemplated over this many times and gave it some heavy thinking. My father and his wife had a different upbringing than me in Sierra Leone, West Africa. It's more strict there and a lot of the rules are different  But still, it does not give them an excuse to make that type of allegation against me, especially when it's completely unsubstantiated. My elder brother and sister have deserted my father and hurt him. So his suspicion is that I would be just like them. He has already told me that he's notified authorities and that there's an investigation going on. But I think that was just bullshit and he was trying to scare me. He's a pathological liar. Abdul said.

Tabitha and Shay gasped heavily.

"I'm gonna give Carl a call!"

Tabitha said as she flew from the couch and quickly walked to the kitchen.

"Who's Carl?" Abdul turned towards Shay and asked.

"Udhuan's little brother. He's the chief of police for the city." Shay said.

"Why didn't you tell me he alerted the officials?" Shay asked.

"Cause he was cappin'! That ngga be lying." Abdul said.

"Still Abdul! Omg!" Shay said as she clenched in between her forehead with her two fingers.

"PLEASE CARL!" Tabitha's voice bellowed from the kitchen.

There was a long period of silence. Tabitha was still on the phone with Carl. Her voice was still audible but it wasn't as loud as before.

A few minutes later she walked out of the kitchen and hurriedly sat on the couch. She turned towards Abdul.

"Okay honey. Whatever you do, please don't return back to that house. I've already told Carl and he said that there's no open investigations, thank God. You will stay here indefinitely. Do you have any properties over there at the house?"

"Just some clothes and my laptop." Abdul said.

"Okay. I'll call Carl again and tell him to send somebody over there to get them. Are they in your room?"

"My clothes are. But the laptop is in the basement. That is where I do all my music recordings." Abdul said.

"Okay. We're going to get all that by tomorrow. Just don't return back there." Tabitha said.

     "Can you promise me that?"

"Yes mommy. I promise." Abdul said.

Tabitha clasped him gently on the knees.

"Okay good. When does Maghrib come in so you can break your fast and eat?" Tabitha asked.

     "8:19pm." Abdul said without hesitation.

"Okay. I'm gonna cook up something for you by then. You got anything in mind?" Said Tabitha.

"It's okay mother. I'm not gonna be very hungry. I'll just ask Shekira to make me a sandwich or something." Abdul said.

     "You sure?"

"Positive!" Abdul said with a smile.

"Okay. You can go back upstairs. I didn't mean to disturb you from your fasting." Tabitha said.

"No, it's fine mommy. I was just laying down." Abdul said.

He then turned towards Shay.

"Can you please come keep me company. All this rain is scaring me." Abdul said.

"The weatherman said it's gonna be like this all week." Tabitha cut in and said.

"Yeah babe. I'll be up in a sec, just let me talk to grandma for a few." Shay said.

"Okay. I love you." Abdul said.

"Love you more. Go lay back down, I'll be up in a sec." Shay said.

Abdul turned around and walked up the stairs. When he arrived in the room, he sat patiently down on the bed and waited for his wife.

About five minutes later Shay opened the door and waltzed in the room. She walked towards Abdul and sat gently down on the bed next to him.

     "You okay?" She asked.

     "Yeah. Just thinking..."

     "About?"

"That's a rhetorical question. What else could I be thinking about? The Greatness of Allah Rabbul Izza of course." Abdul said.

Shay chuckled and gave a thin smile.

     "Why you laughing?" Abdul asked.

     "Dave and Carl." Shay said.

"Who's Dave again? Oh, your old man that killed himself and your mom." Said Abdul.

"Yeah. Carl used to always be telling Theresa that he's no good, but she never listened. I remember once Dave was drunk as hell and him and Carl got into a fist fight. Carl beat him up so bad. And when Dave was on the floor covered up in blood and Carl was about to lay the final blow Theresa intervened and started crying like 'noo Carl! I love him.'" Shay said.

"So many times things like that happened. Theresa was always trying to help Dave and save him. Only for him to end up killing her and himself." Shay said as despondency covered her face.

There was a brief moment of silence.

     "That's fucked up." Abdul said.

He could tell that she was in low spirits and was in a pensive mood.

"Hey! I bet I could make you laugh." Abdul said.

     "Okay, how?"

Abdul turned his head and stared deeply into Shay's eyes.

     "ASHTON... KUTCHER!" Abdul said.

Shay tried to cover her mouth as she erupted in laughter.

Loud thunder crackled in the sky. Abdul rushed to the top of the bed and dove his head in the blanket.

     "MOMMY!" He yelled out.

"Omg what is wrong with you?" Shay said while laughing.

"I'm scared of lightning and heights." Abdul said while under the covers.

     "Why?" Shay asked.

Abdul pulled his head out the blanket and looked at Shay.

"I JUST IS! Are you gonna protect me?" Asked Abdul.

     "From what? Lightning?"

     "The fucking monsters!" Abdul said.

"Boy please. There are no monsters."

"Yes there are! You never believe nothing that I tell you." Abdul said.

"Well the monsters aren't coming tonight, they're on vacation." Shay said.

"Yeah you're definitely not gonna hear them tonight. Cuz I'ma put that ass to sleep." Abdul said.

     "Excuse me?"

"As soon as I break my fast I'm going to insert my large manhood inside you and stroke vigorously. Ya hear me?" Abdul said.

     "No you're not." Shay said.

"And I don't even wanna make love tonight. I'm just gonna fuck your brains out. Ya hear me?" Abdul said.

Shay scoffed and turned her head to the side.

     "Boy please." She said.

"Because there's a huge difference between making love and fucking, or having sex. Those two are synonymous." Said Abdul.

     "What's the difference?" Shay asked.

"I'm glad you asked. I shall tell you."

"Okay so Adam and Eve. Them nggas didn't know wtf they was doing. They was just having sex. Penis going in the vagina, BOOM!"

"Now in terms of 'fucking'. One has to be a bit more experienced. Porn stars def be fucking! When you're fucking the arousal level is very high."

"What about making love?" Shay asked.

"That can ONLY happen between a husband and a wife. There has to be a very strong connection between the two. You need to be experienced though. It's not just gonna happen overnight. It takes years of practice." Abdul said.

"You seem to be very knowledgeable about the subject. Are you a master?" Shay asked.

Abdul scoffed. "Well I don't wanna toot my own horn..."

Abdul began to say, and then he saw the look on Shay's face.

"I'MA VIRGIN! I NEVER EVEN KISSED A GIRL IN MY LIFE. I'm saving myself for Christ." Abdul said.

     "You gon lie?" Shay said.

"I have no reason to lie to you shorty. I don't even know who you are." Abdul replied.

Shay chuckled. "You don't know me?"

"Never seen you a day in my life!" Abdul said.

Shay shook her head and smiled.

     "Let's keep playing." She said.

"I want you to go now. Tell me something that you like."

"Nah, I'm tired of that game. Let's play something else." Abdul said.

"Wanna play truth or dare?" He suggested.

     "Sure." Shay replied.

"Nah, matter fact that game is too provacative and far too sensual. I might ask you to do that dance with your hips. You said Tabitha taught it to you?"

"Yeah, and I taught it to Christy." Shay said.

"Oh, and speaking of. She called me earlier today, I didn't pick up. It was around the time you left to go smoke."

     "Around Dhuhr time?" Abdul said.

     "Huh?"

"In the Muslim community, our time revolves around the scheduled Salah times. So whenever you mention a time of the day, you can just say the name of one of the five prayers." Abdul said.

"Oh, okay. She texted me but I didn't reply." Shay added.

"What did she say?" Abdul asked.

Shay pulled out her pink iPhone from her jeans pocket.

"'Hey wya? You still doing my hair today?'"

"Oh. She wants for you to do her hair?" Abdul asked.

"Yeah. I promised her last week." Shay said.

"Will you be able to go to her house later on today and do it?"

     "Yeah." She said.

"Please do. I wouldn't want you breaking your promise. That is a characteristic of the Munafiqoon." Abdul said.

     "What are 'Munafiqoons'"? Shay asked.

"The hypocrites. Fake Muslims! They are worse than the Non-Muslims." Abdul said.

"Oh, ok. So I can go do Christy's hair?" She asked.

"Yeah, you a grown woman do what you want. I ain't trying hold you down." Abdul said.

Shay scoffed. "But you was the one that told me..."

"I'm just trying blow your mind!" Abdul cut in an said.

"I don't wanna hold you down shorty I wanna blow your mind!" Abdul said and began laughing.

"You like that! Don't steal my BARZ!" Abdul said.

Shay chuckled lightly. "You stupid. How you gon blow my mind?"

"Btch! I'ma suck your dck." Abdul said as he looked at her with a straight face.

"I don't have a dck you idiot!" Shay said.

"Yeah but you gotta Adam's apple."

     "No I don't!"

     "You definitely do."

"After you do Christy's hair can you do mines please?" Abdul asked.

Shay laughed. "If you want."

"Naw matter fact, it's cool cuz I'm bouta make Hajj soon and I have to shave my head. I'm finna get a baldie." Abdul said.

     "What's Hajj?" Shay asked.

"Pilgrimage to the Holy City of Makkah. It's among one of the Five Pillars. If you're able to. I just gotta save my money and stop buying all this damn weed." Abdul said.

Shay snickered. "Well that's what you gotta do. You have to be more conservative." Said Shay.

"Idk how, could you please teach me?"

"TEACH ME HOW TO LOVE. SHOW ME THE WAY TO SURRENDER MY HEART!" Abdul began singing the famous song by Musiq Soulchild.

Shay erupted in laughter. "OMG YOU SOO STUPID!"

Abdul laughed along with her.

"When will you be going to Christy's?" He asked.

Shay was still laughing. She held her stomach and tried to put on a straight face.

     "Around 4pm." She said.

Then she quickly pulled out her phone.

"Oh. I mean, after Asr time."

"I love you more and more everyday." Abdul said.

     "Awww! I love you too.

"Can you please make me a chicken patty sandwich for when I break my fast?" Abdul asked.

"We don't have any chicken patties. But I can get one for you from McDonald's." Shay said.

"Nah I don't like they food." Said Abdul.

     "How come?"

"Too much saturated fat. It be making my butt fat." Abdul said.

Shay snickered. "Boy your butt is not fat."

"Yours not either. And your flat chested." Abdul said.

Shay half gasped and slapped his forearm.

Abdul gave a soft chuckle.

"Just know that I will never ask you to get breast implants or a butt injection. Because Allah is Mussawir and He has fashioned you and made you perfect."

"Awww thanks." Shay said with a smile.

"Do you have any tattoos?" Abdul asked.

"Just one. At the back of my neck." Shay lowered her head and showed him.

It was a plain tattoo in Courier text font. It read "Theresa".

"Aww that jawn cute. Can you get my name tatted on your left butt cheek please." Said Abdul.

     "No boy!" Shay responded.

"That's the only way I'ma know it's real. And that ass belongs to me!" Abdul said and stuck his tongue out.

Shay laughed out loud.

"No! What is wrong with you?" Shay said out loud.

"Nothing. Okay, it don't gotta be on your butt cheek you can just get that jawn on your wrist or something." Abdul said.

Shay turned her head and smiled.

"I'll think about it." She said.

     "You promise?" Abdul said.

"Yes boy! Asr is going to come in soon. I'm gonna get your chicken patty and go to Christy's okay? You said you don't want me to get it from McDonald's?"

"Naw, I was just playing. You can get it from wherever." Abdul said.

"Okay. I'm gonna get it real quick and bring it back okay?" Said Shay.

"Naw you don't gotta come back. Just go to Christy's and bring it when you get back. Can you bring some more weed please?" Abdul said.

Shay stood up from the bed.

"I'll think about it." She said.

"Okay gimme a hug. Make sure to come back okay?" Abdul said.

Shay sighed and leaned over to give Abdul a hug.

"Insha'llah." She smiled thinly and said.

She then walked out of the room and closed the door behind her.

Abdul was alone again. He laid on the bed and folded his arms across his chest, he closed his eyes.

"Allaah is the One I belong to. There's no god but Him. All praise be to Him. I worship Allah because of Who He is. Allah is my Lord and He is deserving of my worship." Abdul quietly said under his breath.

------------------------------------------

"Omg are you serious?" Shay asked Christy.

"Yeah. He didn't even wanna see the ultrasounds. I had to go there by myself. And then when I came back I had to take his little sister Cecilia to her dance class, because her parents were at work and Jason said he was too busy." Christy said as she sat in between Shay's legs.

     "Busy with what?" Shay asked.

Christy shrugged her shoulders.

"He said something about Abdul being a superhero and he was going to go to this guy Nouman's house to talk to him." Said Christy.

Shay started to understand why Abdul didn't want to go to school today.

Shay drew on a pensive face as she twisted Christy's hair. There was a long period of silence.

"So do you like him?" Christy asked.

"Yeah, he seems perfect so far. Idk how it's gonna be tomorrow." Shay said.

"I don't think he's gonna change." Said Christy.

"He asked me to get a tattoo of his name on my butt. I was like WHAT!"

Both Shay and Christy began laughing.

"Omg are you serious?" Christy asked.

     "Yeah! And then..."

The Adhan for Maghrib alerted on Shay's pink iPhone.

"ALLAHU AKBAR ALLAHU AKBAR!" The Muezzin said.

"Oh he's about to break his fast. Lemme finish up and go back real quick." Shay said.

"You coming tomorrow to school." Christy asked.

"Uh... Idk. Grandma didn't tell me yet if she still needs me to help her with the painting." Shay said as she continued to twist Christy's hair.

About two minutes later she finished and put the camera on her iPhone and held it in front of Christy's face.

     "You like it?" She asked.

Christy grabbed the phone to look closer in the camera. Her long curly hair was neatly planted into half cornrows at the back and box braids on the side.

Christy gave a huge smile as she patted her hair.

"Omg yess! Thank you so much." She said.

Shay gave a thin smile. "You're welcome. I liked the bangs better."

"They were too puffy. You don't think they were too puffy?"

"Not really." Shay said as she stood up.

"But lemme get going. I'll call you later okay?" Shay said.

"Okay. Call me." Christy said as she hugged her friend goodbye.
----------------------------------------------------

Shay quietly opened the door and entered the room. The lights were off. Abdul was sitting in Tashahhud (crouched position), with his legs folded up. When Shay entered the room his face lit up. He quickly stood up to hug her.

"I've been waiting for you ALL DAY!" He said.

"I was only gone two hours." She said.

She then showed Abdul the Wendy's bag with chicken patty inside. And it also contained other delicacies.

"OOOOOi I'M ABOUT TO DIIVVEE IN!" Abdul started singing the famous song by Trey Songz.

He quickly grabbed the bag and sat on the floor to eat.

Shay looked at him and started laughing.

"You want me to turn on the lights?" She asked.

Abdul looked up at her and nodded his head.

     "Yes please!"

Shay walked to the end of the room and flicked the light switch on. She then sat down on the bed and took off her small black jacket. She watched Abdul as he sat on the floor and ate.

"Oh, I forgot to get you a drink!" She said.

Abdul turned his head towards her.

"It's cool boo. I'm about to go to the store." Abdul said.

     "For what?" Shay asked.

"Oh!" Shay said as she grabbed her small black jacket off the bed and delved her hand in the pocket.

She drew out a small plastic bag with about a quarter amount of marijuana.

"I love you more and more everyday." He said to her.

"I'm sure you do." Shay said with a smile.

She threw the small plastic bag over to him on the floor. Abdul took it and continued to eat.

A few moments of silence flew by. Shay quietly watched Abdul as he sat on the floor and ate.

"Christy said that Jason thinks you're a superhero, he went to this guy named Nouman's house and refused to go with her to the doctor's to get her ultrasounds."

Abdul said nothing. He finished eating and wiped his mouth with a napkin and stood up.

"Don't go anywhere. I'm going to the store to buy a drink and a wrap. I'll be back shortly." He said as he walked out the room. He didn't close the door.

Abdul walked quietly to the train station to smoke. It was still raining, but not as hard as before. A loud thunder crackled through the sky. Abdul barely heard it as he continued to walk. A cloud of dark gloom and despondency covered his face.

Jason was sitting on the bench. He saw Abdul arriving and quickly stood up and waved.

     "DUULL!!!" He said out loud.

Abdul said nothing. He calmly sat down on the bench and started to roll.

"I knew you was gonna be here DuL. Nouman told me that after Maghrib you always like to come here to smoke." Jason said.

Abdul still said nothing. He finished rolling and sparked up the blunt and took a hit.

"Yoo DuL! I was talking to this guy on Facebook and he said he'll cashapp you $700 if..."

"Jason! You've gone too far." Abdul said.

"DuL what are you talking about bro. This is about making money!" Jason said.

Abdul said nothing. He took another hit and stood up.

"DuL! Where you going?" Jason asked.

"May Allah grant you Jannah." Abdul said as he took another hit and started walking back.

Shay was patiently sitting at the same spot Abdul left her on the edge of the bed. Her hand was tucked under her cheek and she had her face buried in her phone. She lifted up her head when Abdul entered.

     "Hey..." She quietly said.

Abdul walked over to where she was at on the bed.

"Take off your clothes." He demanded.

     "What?" Shay asked quizzically.

Abdul then quickly sat on his knees and unzipped Shay's jean pants and pulled them down. He forcefully pushed her panties to the side and slid his tongue inside.

Shay flung her head back and started moaning loudly. Abdul continued to eat. He kissed and licked the corner of her vaginal walls.

Shay screamed and moaned. He rubbed Abdul's head as he ate. She kicked off her jean pants. Abdul stood up and lifted Shay up and threw her to the top of the bed. He took his pants off and climbed on top of her. He began to stroke. A loud lightning streaked through the sky again. It then started to rain tremendously.

"Cum inside me daddy!" Shay moaned out.

Abdul grunted and began to stroke more intensely.

Shay screamed out and wrapped her arms tightly around Abdul's back.

Right when Abdul was about to ejaculate he closed his eyes and made Du'a.

"Huwa yuhyee wa yumeetu wa ilaihi turja’oon"(10:56) Abdul said quietly and came.
------------------------------------------------

Lisa was downstairs in the kitchen preparing some grits and turkey bacon for Jason. She knew it was one of his favorite. He wasn't really eating a lot lately.

When she was finished she took off her mittens and walked over to the living room to call Jason down.

"JASON! JASON! BREAKFAST!" She yelled out and walked back to the kitchen to sit down and finish doing some paperwork.

A few minutes went by and Jason did not come down. Lisa got up from where she was seated and walked back to the living room to call Jason down.

Still no response. She started treading up the stairs and entered Jason's bedroom. His eyes were closed and was laying peacefully on the bed.

"JASON! Didn't you hear me calling you? Come eat breakfast and get ready for school." Lisa said.

Still no response came from Jason.

Lisa walked over to his bed and nudged him.

     "Jason! Jason!" She said.

Still no response. Lisa looked closely at his son as he laid peacefully on the bed with his eyes closed.

She then gave a loud scream. Loud enough for the entire neighborhood to hear.
