Shay shook her head and half giggled as she saw Abdul on the floor.

     "Are you serious?"

Abdul began to pant heavily while gripping his knees.

"YOU THINK THIS SHYT'S A JOKE!" Abdul bellowed out.

Shay folded her arms across her chest and stepped closer to where Abdul was at on the floor.

She gave a brief sigh. "What happened?"

"A Jinn just fuckin pulled a burner on me and hit me with that jawn!" Abdul said.

"Huh? A Jinn? I thought we couldn't see the Jinns? And why would a Jinn shoot you?" Shay asked.

"BTCH ALLAH KNOWS BEST!" Abdul hollered out.

Shay knelt down. "Lemme see the bullet wound."

"Huh?" Abdul looked up and said.

"Where the Jinn shot you. Lemme see." She said again.

"Oh. It shot me in the soul." Abdul said.

Shay stood back up and gave a smug look.

"Fuckin liar. Then why are you holding your knees? You're just ashamed because I beat you."

Abdul quickly stood up and was no longer holding his knees.

"Ain't nobody ashamed shorty. I just felt sorry for you because you never win anything in your life." Abdul said.

"Whatever. You let a girl beat you." Said Shay.

"That's not true at all. I allowed you to win simply because I felt pity for you."

Shay laughed. "Yeah alright, whatever. You still lost. Now you gotta carry me on your back." Shay said.

"I don't gotta do nothing!" Abdul said.

"Yuh uh! You lost. Are you a hypocrite?" Shay asked.

Abdul immediately responded.

"No! I'ma pious slave of Allaah."

"Well then... Keep your word." Shay said.

Abdul squatted in front of Shay with his back towards her.

A wide smile spread across Shay's face as she jumped on top. She was much lighter than Abdul imagined.

When he was sure that she was firmly on his back he slowly stood up and started walking.

Shay rested her head on top of his back and closed her eyes.

"I'm still going to make your sandwich." Shay quietly said.

Abdul halted and turned his head.

     "REALLY? YOU PWOMISE?" Abdul said.

"Yass now hush! I didn't tell you to stop." Shay said.

Abdul resumed walking and picked up his pace. Shay chuckled as she was on his back.

     "You're my slave." She said.

"I'm only a Slave to my Lord." Abdul responded.

     "HUSH!" Shay said.

     "Yes master!" Abdul quickly said.

Shay gave a light snicker.

     "That's funny?" Abdul asked.

     "Yeah, that's why I laughed."

"You like riding me?" Asked Abdul.

Shay thought for a minute. "No, you nasty boy!"

"Well you can ride me all you want cuz I'm not gay like your uncle." Abdul said.

"I don't have a gay uncle. Carl gotta wife and kids. He's the only uncle I got."

"You look like a uncle shorty." Abdul said.

     "No I don't!"

"Naw you look like a aunty. A FAT ASS AUNTY! You suffer from diabetes." Abdul said.

"I'm not gonna make your sandwich anymore."

     "WHY??? I'm sorry!"

     "Nope. My decision is final."

"Why omg!!!" Abdul said and began to pout.

"I said I was sorry!" He added.

"I don't accept your apology. You should've thought about that before you said what you said."

Abdul said nothing...

"Okay. We are approaching the Masjid. I'm going to start running. Tighten your grip around my neck. I'm gonna hold on to your bottom. But I promise I'm not being a pervert. I just don't want you to fall and crack your head on the concrete and die because I really love you. Ya hear me?" Abdul said.

Shay gave an impish glee as she tightened her arms around his neck.

     "Okay." She said.

Abdul made sure that she was firmly on and darted off.

Shay yelled out as he ran.

"Watch out for the car!" She said.

"Allah is the All-Seer!" Abdul responded as he ran through the street and got to the other side.

When he arrived to the front of the Masjid he squatted down and gently let Shay down off his back.

"You don't know how to look both ways before you cross the street?" Shay asked.

"Btch I told you that Allah Sees all!"

     "Don't call me a btch."

     "Shut up btch!"

"That's why I'm not making your stupid egg and cheese sandwich." Shay said.

     "WHY??? I'M SORRY!"

     "Nope!" Shay said.

"Btch I said I was sorry."

"I'm not obligated to accept your apology Abdul! And I have a name." Shay said.

"What's your name shorty?" Abdul asked.

"My name's not shorty either. You know my name." Shay responded.

"Jenny from the block?" Asked Abdul.

Shay snickered. "NO BOY!"

"You know she gotta butt reduction surgery?" Abdul said.

     "Did she really?" Shay asked.

"Well, that's what I heard? I'm not too sure about the veracity on that though."

"You shouldn't believe everything you hear." Said Shay.

"That's true. Even the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Salam said so." Abdul said.

"Oh and speaking of! So we're going to go in here and make Wudu first, then we're going to perform two Rak'aths(units of prayer)." Abdul added.

     "Okay." Shay said.

"I have to talk to my brother Nouman. This is the Masjid he's at frequently." Abdul said.

"Make sure to enter with your right foot. And when you go in the bathroom to perform Ablution use your left foot to enter."

Shay nodded her head. Then they both walked up the steps and into the Masjid together.

"Alhamdulillah." Abdul said as he entered.

"Go downstairs into the bathroom to make Wudu. I'll join you shortly. I have to look for Nouman." Abdul said to Shay.

Shay nodded her head and turned around and began treading down the stairs. Abdul walked inside the office at the rear entrance.

Two sisters were seated inside filling out some paperwork. When Abdul entered they stopped and lifted their heads.

Abdul gave a huge smile and lifted his hand up to give a wave.

     "As Sallamu Alaykum."

Both sisters gave a thin smile in return.

"Alaykum Sallam." They both repeated in nuance.

     "Is Nouman here?" Abdul asked.

The smile disappeared from both their faces. A long moment of silence passed.

Abdul was about to open his mouth and ask if everything is okay. Then one of the sisters spoke.

"Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun"(2:156)

Abdul immediately knew what that meant. He turned around and walked out.

"As Sallamu Alaykum." He said as he exited the office.
