Bianca stared directly into Vague’s face with her green eyes as she waited for him to say it back. She was African-American but had a bright golden skin complexion, with long braided hair. Her head was planted on Vague’s chest. She was looking at him but he wasn’t looking back, his eyes were fixed on the ceiling. As he stared up into nothing he began to reminisce. She tapped him slightly on his arm and snapped him out of his reminiscing.

Vague, I said I love you.”

Vague continued to gaze up at the ceiling without blinking. He stroked her hair again.

I know.” He said softly.

There was a brief pause, Bianca continued to look at Vague as he starred up into the ceiling.

You made me love you.” She said to him.

Vague said nothing.

You made me fall in love with you.” Bianca added.

Vague blinked once as his eyes were fixed on the ceiling.

How could you?” She asked with her voice breaking, tears started to flood in her eyes.

Once Vague heard her cackling voice he looked at her and gulped. He saw that her eyes were red and that she was on the verge of tears;

I love you.” He finally said.

He said it, but his tone of voice and words were empty and devoid of emotions. They were just words, they meant nothing to Vagtue and everything to her.

She smiled as she looked at him. “You mean it?”

For some strange reason, her happiness suddenly meant a lot to Vague. Before they meant nothing, but now. What could have changed? Vague wondered to himself.

You make me happy.” He said softly.

They were the same words that he said to Cindy in 9th grade when they first started dating, and he was using those same words now.

Awww...” You mean that?” She asked him.

There was another brief pause. Vague kissed her forehead, Then he hugged her and tightened his arms around her.

Go to sleep.” He said.

She nodded her head up and down. “Okay,”

Then she laid her head down on his chest and closed her eyes, Within minutes she drifted.

Vague had his eyes closed as well, but not because he was lethargic or somnolent. He was deep in thought, he was nostalgic. His nostalgia was a result of the remorse and regret that he was feeling.

He stroked her hair, then he began to reminisce...

His lights were off in his room, the door was locked, A few dry towels and other dirty cloths was stuffed underneath the bathroom to encapsulate the stench and prevent it from leaving the bathroom, his father would be able to smell it from a mile away.

Ahna and Al had gone for a dinner date at Red Lobster’s, it was Ahna’s 31st birthday and they were celebrating it.

Vague was in the bathroom experimenting. Othman had just introduced him to a famous strand called “Green Crack”. He smoked it with him on Friday.
