Chapter 13

Christy grunted and she gave a huge sigh.

“Jason, I have a test tomorrow, this is my last class for the day. He’s just reviewing the study guide for the test, I really have to…”

“Okay whatever, I’ll be in the cafeteria.” I quickly said.

“Thank you! I’ll be there in like 10 minu…”

I hung up the phone before she finished her sentence. Then I began to walk through the front door into the school cafeteria. The cafeteria is in the second floor, that is where the main entrance was.

There are a total of four floors in the entire school, the first floor has mostly classrooms, the second floor has some classrooms and a gym as well as the big auditorium and the cafeteria, that is the default floor in which you entered as soon as you walk in the school, the third floor has also classrooms, and the fourth floor has mostly classrooms as well as the library and counselor offices. Most of the classrooms in the fourth floor were empty, and people only go up there mainly to go inside the library or to talk to a counselor. Children would mainly talk to a counselor if they’re having domestic issues at home, or if they’re having issues at school, with peer-pressure or classwork. There were a total of five counselors in the entire school that people could talk to. Mr. Keen was also a counselor, but he’s not full-time. Since he’s a biology teacher, that’s what his profession was. He is really understanding and has good social skills that is why many kids like to talk to him, including me. But I never went to the counselor’s office to talk to him though. If I was having issues I would just talk to him after class, or I would go to into his room during lunch. I remember the last time that I went to his classroom to talk to him was a few months ago during the Winter. I went to him during lunch period because I was having issues with an assignment from Mr. Spica’s class, it was a two-step method to multiplying and dividing variables. Mr. Spica went over it with us in class and he showed us how to do it, but I still did not get it. I didn’t want to go to Mr. Spica afterwards and make him explain it to me again, because even though he’s a really good math teacher and I’m sure that he could’ve found an easier way to explain it to me. Mr. Spica just spent over an hour and thirty-minutes teaching us how to do it. For me to go back to him and ask him to explain it to me again would make it seem like all that work that he did was for nothing and I wasn’t paying attention, and I wouldn’t want him to think that. So I decided to go talk to Mr. Keen instead. Even though he’s a Biology teacher and didn’t really have that much of a knack for math, he still managed to help me.

“Wassup Mr. Keen, are you busy? Can you help me with something right quick?” I asked him as I walked in his class.

He was on his computers and he had his reading glasses on. He closed the computer and took off his glasses as soon as I walked in.

“Yeah Jason, come on in. What do you need help with son?” Mr. Keen said.

I lifted one of the chairs that was in the classroom and I moved it close to Mr. Keen’s table and sat by him.

“It’s this stupid math work, I don’t understand this piece of fecal matter.” I said to him as I dug inside my bag and pulled out the math worksheet and placed it on his desk.

“Well let’s check it out.” Mr. Keen said as he put his glasses back on and drew the paper close to him and started reading over it.

“Hmmm… multiplying and dividing variables, wow, these are really fun.” Mr. Keen said sarcastically.

He continued to look over the paper as he wiped his chin. Though there wasn’t any hair on his chin, nor on his head.

He then grabbed a hold of his laptop and lifted the covering of the screen back up.

“I’ve forgotten how to do these but let me just look at some quick videos okay.” He said.

“Ard bruh.” I replied to him as I folded my hands on his desk.

I then started hearing a man talking from the video that Mr. Keen was watching. It was an informative video, Mr. Keen was on YouTube.

After a couple minutes Mr. Keen started nodding his head slowly as he rubbed his hairless chin.

He then closed the laptop and drew his chair closer in to me.

“Okay sir, I think I found out how to do these.” Mr. Keen said to me.

He then pulled the white sheet of paper closer to our proximity, looked at it over again and began to write on it. When he started writing on the paper he saw that he was using a pen. He quickly pulled out a pencil from underneath his desk and put the pen down on his desk.

“Okay so this is what you have to do…” He said.

After about fifteen minutes Mr. Keen showed me an alternative way to solve the problems, much simpler than the way that Mr. Spica was showing me.

“Okay, okay, I think I got it now Mr. Keen, thank you!” I said to him as I picked the paper up from his desk and began to place it back in my bag and got up to start heading out.

“Glad I could help sir. You should really talk to Mr. Spica about that and confirm what I just taught you, I’m not even sure if it’s right.” Mr. Keen said while laughing.

I laughed back. Then I told him thank you and walked out.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The lunchroom was empty as I walked in. The only ones who were in there were the lunch staff, none of the kids were there. I sat down at my regular table and put my head down and waited patiently for lunch to commence, so that I can see my wife… and Joe.

After about 10 minutes kids started flooding the lunchroom and sitting down on the tables, talks of sports, Miss Liz, and every other mundane topic began to fill the air. I looked around for my wife, but I couldn’t see her, she must still be…

“I’m proud of you my boy.” Said Darrel as he rubbed my head and sat down next to me.

“I heard you finally solidified the relationship.” He said to me while laughing.

He then reached over and shook my hands.

“They grow up so fast!” He said to me as he began to sniffle.

“Just yesterday I was changing your diapers and now here you are getting married. I’m such a proud father.” Darrel said as he began to sniffle.

“Bro. You. Are. Gay!” I said to him while smiling.

We both started laughing. A few seconds later Christy came to the table.

“Come on, we can go now bae.” She said to me while still standing.

She was dressed in a pair of tan khaki jeans, with small white boots, and she had a small blue feather at the bottom of her boots close to her ankle, and she had matching white hoodie for her top. Immediately I gazed at her up and down and my heart began to fill with rage and fire, I strongly detested the way that she was dressed. Though I didn’t say anything.

I got up from the table and began walking with her out the cafeteria. Before we walked all the way out I turned my head around and started looking for Joe. He was seated with Jerry and a few other people I didn’t know. I turned my head to face Christy.

“Give me $20.” I said to her as I held my hand out.

She looked at me with no expression on her face.

“Umm… Why do you want me to give you $20.” She asked me.

“Because I would like to go to Joseph who is seated over there and purchase some illegal marijuana from him.” I said to her.

“Omg Jason are you serious? No! I’m not going to contribute in your addiction, no!” She said.

I didn’t say anything. I kept my hand outstretched to her. After a few seconds Christy sucked her teeth and she began to mumble something to herself and then she delved her hand inside her handbag and pulled out a $20 bill and gave it to me.

“Here take it Jason. Go buy your stupid marijuana you dumb…”

I took the money and walked away before she could finish her sentence. I went to Joe and bought two dime bags from him and walked back to Christy.

“Come on let’s go.” I said to her.

Me and her walked out the cafeteria into the sidewalk and began heading to her house.

“Jason! You smoke like every SINGLE DAY, that’s not cool, that’s not cute, it’s a serious addiction and you need…” She began to say.

I stopped to hand her the bag. “Here, I bought you some flowers and chocolate.”

She took it from me and I resumed walking.

“Awww thank you baby, I love these.” She said as she took the bag and began opening the box of chocolates.

“Why didn’t you come to school today bae?” She asked me as she put one of the heart shaped chocolates in her mouth.

I didn’t answer her. I continued to walk and pretended like I didn’t hear her.

“Bae, what’s wrong? Why was you acting all funny on the phone this morning? Why didn’t you come to school today?” She asked again.

I still didn’t say nothing. A short while later we approached at the front door of her house, I stepped aside and let her open the door with her keys. She then walked inside. I walked in behind her, and then I gently closed the door behind me. The entire living room was dark.

“Jason, I’m talking to you boy, how come…”

Quickly I reached with my right hand and grabbed her cheek and began to squeeze and pushed her against the wall.

“Didn’t I tell you not to be dressing like that!?” I asked her as my hand began to wrap around her throat lightly.

“DIDN’T I?” I asked her again, louder this time.

Fear shot across Christy’s eye as her bottom lip began to quiver.

“Yes-yes da-da-dadd-d-daddy.” She said.

I let go of her cheek and her throat and grabbed her hand and began to storm upstairs to her room. I kicked the door open and walked in while still holding onto her hands, I turned the lights on in her barely lit room. I quickly dropped her hand to her side and went inside her closet. I dived my head inside and began rummaging through her clothes.

Whichever clothes I found inappropriate I threw it to the side until I found a couple oversized long sleeve shirts and pants and threw it on her bed next to where she was seated.

“THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WEARING! I DON’T WANT YOU DRESSING LIKE THAT CHRISTY! I ALREADY TOLD YOU! WHY DON’T YOU LISTEN?” I yelled and said to her.

Her eyes began to turn red and I could see bits of tears beginning to well up in them.

“Jason I’m sorry! I won’t do it again, I’m sorry!” She said.

I ignored her, I then walked and sat down on the opposite side of the bed from where she was seated. I reached in my pocket and pulled out the dime bag and blunt wrap from my bag and began to roll.

When I finished rolling I reclined my back on the headboard on her bed and pulled out my white Bic lighter. I flicked it on a few times.

“Jason, you can’t do that in here, my mom’s gonna be home soon.” She said.

I lit the blunt and took a slow long drag. I laid my head back and slowly let the smoke fill my lungs. Christy just sat there and stared at me, she didn’t say anything. I took another drag.

“Shut up.” I said to her.

“I didn’t say any…”

“Come over here.” I said to her as I gestured my fingers towards her and called her over.

She looked at me as I took another drag and blew the smoke onto the ceiling. She stood up and began walking towards me.

She was now standing in front of me as my head was reclined on the headboard. I looked at her as she stood there.

“Get on your knees!” I ordered her.

She hesitated a little bit, and then she succumbed and slowly got down on her knees.

I pulled my zipper down and loosened my belt and pulled “it” out. I lightly grabbed her by the head and shoved it in her mouth. Christy’s looked up at me as her head began going in and out while “it” was in her mouth.

“You wanna dress like this, this is how you’re gonna be treated okay.” I said to her.

Christy slowly nodded her head up and down.

I then reached in with my left hand and stuck my index finger in her backside, I pulled it out and sniffed it.

“THIS JAWN STANK!!” I said out loud.
